How far in advance should I book my session?
We recommend booking early in your pregnancy, even the first trimester. To provide our clients the service they deserve, we accept a limited amount of newborn sessions a month. Booking early ensures your best chances of securing a newborn session.
When do newborn sessions take place?
Newborn sessions ideally take place between 5 and 14 days after a baby’s birth. There are many reasons for this desired timeframe, but with that being said, we can capture beautiful photographs of your baby at any age.
Where will my session be?
The session will take place either at our beautiful studio in Edwardsville, IL or as a lifestyle session in your home.
What if my baby is fussy?
With over twelve years of experience photographing newborns, you can rest assure you are in the right hands. Your sweet newborn will be exactly as they are supposed to be that day. Baby’s needs will be met first, if we need to break for feedings, we do. Your session will never be rushed.
How long will the session last?
While most sessions last around 2 hours, I will ask you to set aside 3 hours on your calendar. Some babies need to eat and be soothed more than others, and we will never rush your baby or the experience. If we need to go beyond the norm to create a beautiful gallery of images for you, we are happy to do so. However, we also are very respectful of your time, and will do everything in our control to keep the session moving as efficiently as possible.
Are parents and siblings included?
Your session is custom designed for you! The session can focus on baby only or we can include parents/siblings. Our client studio wardrobe includes many options for siblings.
How should I prepare for the session?
Several days before your session, we will send you some very simple guidelines. We are different from other photographers in that we will not ask you to complete a long list of tasks on your session day. We understand getting everyone out of the house is enough of a task on its own. Our biggest request is that you try your best to relax and not worry about a thing.
How soon will I have my photos?
Approximately 2-3 weeks after your session, we will meet for your reveal/order appointment. At that time, we will watch a video slideshow of your images and assist you with your ordering. Once orders are placed, heirloom products can take up to 4 weeks for delivery. This is due to their custom nature. I can assure you they are well worth the wait!
Can I share my photos on social media?
Of course! All we ask is that you do not apply any filters or personal editing. And please don’t forget to link to us so your friends and family can find us!
